I think I have a ransomware virus on the computer because majority of files have .udjvu extension.
This morning while I was surfing the internet, a pop-up appears stating that there are necessary updates it needs to install. I am not ignorant when it comes to Microsoft Windows update and I know that this particular message is fake. So, I cancelled it and closes the pop-up window and also ceases the operation of any running programs using task manager.
Suddenly, another pop-up appears with following message:“Page not available. Your IT administrator has limited access to some areas of this app, and the item you are trying to access is not available. Please contact IT helpdesk for more information.”
I cannot recall the exact message but it is very similar to the one above. This time, when I tried to close the window using task manager, Windows denied my access and I received a message that “Task manager has been disabled by administrator.”
I decided to reboot the computer and after boot-up, my wallpaper was changed to black and upon reviewing my files, I noticed that most were appended with .udjvu extension. Actually, files mostly affected are documents and images.
Please help me remove the ransomware virus and help me decrypt the .udjvu files. If there is already recovery software for this kind of encryption, please tell me where to download a copy.
