    Hi,

Win32:Adware-gen [Adw] keeps trying to break into my system. I have a couple of questions to ask before I try to remove this PUP. I don’t want to do any further damage to my system. Firstly, I have AVAST as my antiviral package. Will loading something like Norton Power Eraser( NPE) interfere with its functioning? Will I have to delete NPE after I have finished with the PUP removal process?

You show Windows 8 Instructions, but I run Windows 7. Is there an additional procedure for Windows 7?

    Thank you for your time.

Norton Power Eraser will not have any conflict with other anti-virus programs. It is a stand-alone tool that doesn’t complicate things on your PC. It’s up to you if you want to delete NPE after scanning the computer. I just left it on the drive because I can run it each time I am performing security maintenance.

Norton Power Eraser is a small utility from Symantec. I don’t see any reason for this tool to have a conflict with any installed antivirus software. It is a stand-alone tool. You need to install it, but it doesn’t take too much resources on the computer. It will work even if you have security software running, with maximum security configuration.

I used Norton Power Eraser during cleaning time of my Windows. After the scan, I removed it to have only minimal software on my computer. Though, I see no problems even if you will not uninstall this tool.
